Director of Operations

Job Summary

Our team is searching for an Director of Operations to create and manage a better internal operating system for Gracious Garlands. This is a contract position through January 31, 2019 – at which point, we will renegotiate a new contract. As a small start-up, we need someone who is extremely organized, analytical, communicative, and a real jack-of-all-trades to help support the growth GG is experiencing.

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Assist CEO with company strategy and planning
  • Create and manage Austin delivery logistics
  • Recruit seasonal staff
  • Onboarding and training for new hires
  • Work with CEO to create operation standards and procedures
  • Work with CEO to create and maintain financial budget
  • Work with CEO to develop company CRM
  • Work with team to plan events and pop-up shops
  • Create and manage custom quotes and invoices
  • Manage Design Trade Program
  • Manage Refer-A-Friend Program
  • Responsible for basic accounting– sales tax, bookkeeping, payroll
  • Manage freight and shipping accounts
  • Assist with customer service during busy season (Sept-Dec)
  • Manage and oversee operations of Austin Location from Friday, November 23-Sunday, December 2

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or something relatable
  • 1-2 years of experience in management, HR, operations, or business administration
  • Preferred experience with Quickbooks
  • Flexible work hours but must be able to work occasional nights/weekends
  • Ability to work remotely
  • Must have valid driver’s license and vehicle
  • Strong sense of responsibility and ability to complete tasks with minimal supervision
  • Confidence in managing multiple projects and teams
  • Must love the holiday season!
